FM Cover Project 4-6 Sneak Peek

Here are the paint masters of the next editions in the Famous Monster Cover Project. These will debut next week at Maskfest, and like last year, they can be reserved on a first come, first served basis. #4 and 5 will be limited to 25 copies.
FMCP #4 - Dorian from FM #60
FMCP #5 - Monster from 1968 Yearbook
FMCP #6 - Dracula from FM #35
Unfortunately, #6 will be limited to between 10-15 copies as the sculpture is too small to make production molds from. These copies will be made available to Devil's Workshop Fang Club Members that own all of the original three. After that, they will be made available to other Devil's Workshop Fang Club Members that own FMCP masks. I would rather go this route and reward loyalty than putting them on Ebay.

FM Cover Project One-Offs

Greetings Creeps! It’s been a busy Halloween season around the Devil’s Workshop, so posts have been scarce.

This week I had some fun creating a few One-Offs of the Famous Monster Cover Project masks. This past Monday I completed two separate Phantom One-Offs. One Flesh Colored which was commissioned, and a second Purple Phantom for the Tattoo Factory Gallery Show”It’s Your Funeral (Art inspired by death)”. The Opening is Friday October 29th, at 4443 N. Broadway, Chicago IL.
Today I completed a One-Off of the FM #110 Ghoul. It took awhile today, but I finally figured out the color combo that I thought worked really well. This will be offered up for auction.

Announcing the Famous Monsters Cover Project

Here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming Devil’s Workshop Famous Monsters Cover Project. Pictured here is the Phantom from FM 1966 Yearbook.

The classic monsters have always been my favorite. I’ve always wanted make some, but they’ve been done so many times by so many artists, it didn’t seem like there was a reason. I’ve also always thought that the FM cover monsters were amazing! I’d stare at those covers for hours as a kid.

So… this project will be my homage to the greatest monsters of all time, done in the amazing FM style. These will be wearable retro Don Post stlye, for true old-school mask collectors!

The first four will debut at Maskfest 2010:
#01 – FM115: Werewolf of London
#02 – 1966YB: Phantom
#03 – FM110: Ghoul
#04 – TBA

Stay tuned for more pics and HMA posts as Maskfest approaches!
