FM Cover Project 4-6 Sneak Peek

Here are the paint masters of the next editions in the Famous Monster Cover Project. These will debut next week at Maskfest, and like last year, they can be reserved on a first come, first served basis. #4 and 5 will be limited to 25 copies.
FMCP #4 - Dorian from FM #60
FMCP #5 - Monster from 1968 Yearbook
FMCP #6 - Dracula from FM #35
Unfortunately, #6 will be limited to between 10-15 copies as the sculpture is too small to make production molds from. These copies will be made available to Devil's Workshop Fang Club Members that own all of the original three. After that, they will be made available to other Devil's Workshop Fang Club Members that own FMCP masks. I would rather go this route and reward loyalty than putting them on Ebay.

Super Frankenstein Replica Mask

The Devil's Workshop Super Frankenstein Mask is set to debut at Maskfest 2011. Here are some shots of the color master and the original ad.

The edition will be limited to 25 copies and will tentatively be priced at $119. The mask will be offered on a first come, first served basis at Maskfest, with the remaining copies being offered at Monsterpalooza. Any additional copies will be made available to the public on the Devils-Workshop.com

X-Fluke Collector's Edition Retired

The X-Fluke collector's edition mask is officially retired. The final copy was produced in early January and with that the edition is no more. Big thanks go out to the 18 collectors who who each own a copy of the Flukester!

The X-Fluke was a replica of the X-Files Flukeman monster. Originally introduced back in 1998 as the Devil's Workshop's fourth collector's edition mask, the X-Fluke was made available in both a standard and deluxe edition which was produced with acrylic eyes. From 1998-2000, 10 of the 18 copies were produced and sold. These numbers reflect 2 deluxe editions and 8 standard edition copies.

The edition was originally introduced back in 1998 in both a standard and deluxe edition. From 1998-2000 10 of the 18 copies were produced and sold.

Along the way, the X-Fluke graced the cover of a Headhunter's Quarterly issue. This particular copy being painted by Doug Goins of Hoosier Effects Co.

In 2009 the X-Fluke went back into production with the intent of releasing the remaining 9 copies. All 8 were to be released as super-thick deluxe editions. 3 variations were released during this later run.

The first variation featured pupil-less yellow eyes. The second variation featured red eyes with pupils. The last and final copy to be produced featured yellow eyes similar to the original release.

Here are a few more pics featuring full head shots of the original release and the later release.
Fear not creeps, with an old Devil's Workshop collector's edition being retired, a new collector's edition will surely fill the void. Keep your eyes pealed for news of a new release this spring!

FM Cover Project One-Offs

Greetings Creeps! It’s been a busy Halloween season around the Devil’s Workshop, so posts have been scarce.

This week I had some fun creating a few One-Offs of the Famous Monster Cover Project masks. This past Monday I completed two separate Phantom One-Offs. One Flesh Colored which was commissioned, and a second Purple Phantom for the Tattoo Factory Gallery Show”It’s Your Funeral (Art inspired by death)”. The Opening is Friday October 29th, at 4443 N. Broadway, Chicago IL.
Today I completed a One-Off of the FM #110 Ghoul. It took awhile today, but I finally figured out the color combo that I thought worked really well. This will be offered up for auction.

Predator Suit Paint Finished

The Devil’s Workshop has been invaded by a Predator! Just finished is this full-sized Predator complete with armor. I spent the better part of the summer months methodically working on finishing, foaming and painting this Predator mask, suit and armor. The paint scheme is based on Steve Wang’s amazing paint job from the Predator 2 movie. Here are a few pics. I’ll be posting a page that specifically showcases the entire process from start to finish.

Greetings Creeps! Introducing the newest blood-curdling original creation from the Devil’s Workshop…. Mr Grimm 2!!!

This massively morbid monster is the largest creation the Devil’s Workshop has ever offered. The first run of 10 will come directly from the master mold, while the remaining copies will be pulled from production molds.
